How often do you change your facebook cover photo?
If the answer to that is “not very often”, then you need to start making some changes… a little MORE often.
Update your facebook cover photo to change things up from time to time.
When should you do it? If you have….
- a new offer
- a webinar
- new product
- or if there’s a change in season… change up your cover photo!
If you’ve noticed in your own news feed, you’ll get notifications when a person updates their cover photo along with their beautiful new cover photo, whether its on their personal profile or their fanpage. Your cover photo change gets a lot of exposure because it is such a WIDE photo, right?!
Right!
People notice this in their feeds. And they are usually very visually appealing and share what that particular person does, or what their fanpage has to offer.
So… when you update your cover photo, your new photo will be in all your fans’ newsfeeds.
And anytime someone LIKES, COMMENTS ON, or SHARES your cover photo, it will show up in THEIR friends’ newsfeeds.
See what I’m getting at?
And… to make the most of this, add a description to your cover photo.
You’ll notice that when you click on your cover photo, it will pop up in a light box, with a description to the right, just like any other photo on facebook.
This is a great place to add a quick call to action and a link to take your fans to your blog, website, sales page, whatever.
Don’t have a blank cover photo description!
Use this space to send your fans to your site!
Now, Let’s take it one step further and add a call to action to your cover photo.
Now that facebook has changed up their rules and regulations on fanpage cover photos, you can NOW add text and call to actions on them!
SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT!
Add text or an arrow to CLICK HERE for …….
When they click on your cover photo, it will pop up in a light box with the description filled out with a link to go to wherever your call to action said you would take them!
Amy Porterfield does a great example of this:
See how she added a red button with a call to action to CLICK… then you see her link to her latest webinar in the description once you click on the cover photo! Genius!
Be sure to like, share, tweet and comment!
